Director & Professor, Postgraduate Medical Education Center. Gastroenterology Staff, Ehime University Hospital, JAPAN. Research addressed clinical questions in hepato-pancreatobiliary disease: over 190 peer reviewed publications, H index 42 and 7300 citations with a cumulative impact factor over 850. Graduated from Ehime University (1995), completed gastroenterology & hepatology training. Alongside basic research earning PhD (2005), involved in diagnostic criteria of drug induced liver injury and guidelines of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). Clinical fellow at University of Toronto (2006-2009), fascinated by clinical research on PBC (Am J Gastroenterol 2010, Hepatology 2010, Clin Gastroenterol Hepatol 2014, J Hepatol 2014, Gastroenterology 2014 & 2015, Gut 2016, etc). Leading the "Pancreatobiliary Group" at Ehime University (2009-) and Ehime Pancreato-cholangiology (EPOCH) Study Group (2010-): Japanese Pancreas Foundation's Research Encouragement Award (2011), Best Paper Award from Graduate School of Medicine, Ehime University (2020) and Ehime Medical Association Award (2021) (Mayo Clin Proc 2019).
