Diabetes secondary to exocrine pancreatic pathology, also known as Type 3C Diabetes or Pancreatogenic Diabetes, is considered to account for less than 5% of diabetes cases. Chronis pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and post pancreatectomy are the most common causes of this form of secondary diabetes. It remains a less recognised form of diabetes which is relatively less understood compared to other forms of diabetes. This presentation will cover the classification of diabetes, the different forms of type 3C diabetes, the clinical significance and management.
